About Hoshi
Konichiwa (koh-NE-cheewah)! My name is Hoshi. I live in a country that is called “The Land of the Rising Sun.” Here, instead of shaking hands, we bow to each other to say hello. The more important you are the lower others bow. I have lots of hobbies including origami and bonsai. Origami is the Japanese craft of paper folding. With just one sheet of paper, I can make animals, flowers and many other objects. My otokooya, or father, is teaching me to develop a bonsai tree out of an azalea branch. Bonsai trees are small trees made from seeds or cuttings of full sized trees. They are usually less than a foot tall! My father has a bonsai tree that he got from his father.
