Lala
Manao ahoana! My name is Lala and I live on the fourth largest island in the world. My country makes half of the world’s supply of vanilla! The vanilla comes from a bean on the vanilla orchid. We also have lots of bananas on my island and they are part of my favorite snack, Koba, a mix of rice, bananas and peanuts – yummy! My country used to be attached to Africa, but broke away over 2 million years ago, so our plants and animals evolved in unique ways. Many are only found here, including my favorite, the lemur! There are over 30 different kinds of lemurs, but I like the long tail of the Ring-tailed Lemur. Lemurs are primates and have thumbs on their hands and their feet! Do you know where I live? Madagascar, Africa
